When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

All information captured in our website contact and signup forms comes from a fully due process of physical opt-ins and manual navigation through a secure website and is therefore considered agreed upon that Tek-On may use that information to contact you regarding your inquiry according to the parameters you’ve given us, and at reasonable amounts provide any ongoing marketing & knowledge-base services you have requested, such as our Newsletter, Social Media Accounts Posts and Direct Messages, or Subscribed Contact Email Lists, which may not be limited to including marketing messages and sales efforts from some or all Tek-On brands, as owned and operated DBA Tek-On brands by Kane Micheletti in British Columbia, Canada and Alberta, Canada as of April 30th, 2021.
At any point, you are free to Unsubscribe from any service or marketing platform using the link that will be found at the bottom of every marketing and sales related message and email, or by following the Comments and Cookies sections above.
All information captured in our website contact forms is private, secure, recorded, and safely backed up and stored according to any and all government and legal requirements. Your contact information will be stored in the cloud for 1 year; after that or in tandem, it may be stored locally in a secure location for up to 10 years for the same reasons of any and all government and legal requirements.
Who we share your data with
If you request a user password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We use Google Ads and Google Analytics (Google Adsense Privacy Policy) to advertise and to track our web traffic so we can better understand our customers to provide more appropriate products & services and more accurate advertisements on Google’s many ad platforms and form factors.
We use Facebook Pixel (Facebook Pixel Privacy Policy) to advertise and to track our traffic on various Meta’s platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others.
We use WP Mail SMTP (WP Mail SMTP Privacy Policy) wordpress plugin to manage the outgoing email traffic from all WPForms (WPForms Privacy Policy) plugin contact form submissions. The SMTP email service itself is privately run on Tek-On’s secure servers; your information is secure and will never be shared or sold.
All Calls & Texts to the website provided contact numbers are recorded and securely stored with MightyCall, Inc. (Mighty Call’s Privacy Policy) servers; this information will never be shared or sold.
All Email and Contact Form information is securely stored on Tek-On servers, and backed up to Microsoft Outlook servers (Microsoft Outlook Privacy Policy) and Google Mail servers (Google Mail’s Privacy Policy); this information will never be shared or sold. Periodically, Tek-On website managers will download a backup of all web server information and securely store it locally on a password-protected, unplugged and securely stored external hard drive.
All Manual Opt-In Form, Newsletter, & Signup information is stored on Tek-On servers, and backed up to Microsoft Outlook and Google Mail servers; this information will never be shared or sold, however Tek-On reserves the right to send legal and appropriate marketing materials to the information provided until such a time that the user Unsubscribes with the included Unsubscribe link at the bottom of every digital marketing message, or replies “STOP” to the text service.
We use Total Upkeep (Total Upkeep’s Privacy Policy) wordpress plugin to manage the automation of our website backups. Total Upkeep does not capture, store, or release any information from the contact forms on the Tek-On.site website. It does backup the website itself and all related files to the Web Server, to Google Drive (Google Drive Privacy Policy), and periodically after any major updates to the local machine for transfer to a password-protected, securely stored external backup drive. Our website is safe, your data is safe, our data is safe, as to well beyond reasonable expectations for the usual protocols for the level of sensitivity of the privacy of both your and our information.
Your information will only every be shared with Tek-On Trusted Partners upon your express written or spoken approval. We are in no way legally authorized to capture your information then sell it to 3rd parties for gain without your express written or spoken approval. This refers to Trusted Partner referrals as well; our staff is strictly not allowed to share any referral information outside of Tek-On staff & Trusted Contractors without your express written or spoken consent. Tek-On may share your information with any Trusted Contractors that are required to complete the requested services and install the requested products. Trusted Contractors are sure to change through time; therefore, it shall be left to Tek-On leadership’s best judgement and discretion to adequately vet any and all Trusted Contractors, and to uphold them to similar standards of Privacy and Security of your and our information.
Our staff has been vetted with Federal Background Security Checks as well as current Provincial Government Identification and all required Local Sales/Technician Licensing; your information will be shared with our staff as needed, and is secure and will never be shared or sold outside Tek-On staff without your express written or spoken approval, such as a referral scenario.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Calls & Texts to all website provided phone numbers are stored on MightyCall servers for 1 year, and stored on Tek-On Backup Servers for 10 years; this information is secure and will never be shared or sold without your express written or spoken approval.
Tek-On will never share or sell your information to other marketing agencies, governments, trusts, companies, brands, or individuals without your express written or verbal approval. Tek-On reserves the right to share information with government officials and legal representatives if it is so required by municipal, provincial, or federal law. Tek-On reserves the right to share information under the hereby stated “Gun to my Head” clause wherein if any representative is under undue Duress or Danger of Physical Harm unless they release the information, the representative shall use their best judgement to limit any data loss or breach, yet shall preserve their own personal safety first.
What rights you have over your data
Tek-On owns only as much rights over your data as you have expressly given us permission through active, knowledgeable submission of such information, and by selecting any options pertaining to your cognitive understanding of our Terms & Privacy Policy and any variations of such for purposes outside of our normal business model that you have actively asked to be a part of. Given the nature of our business, we are best motivated to use this information for marketing purposes as minimally as possible to acquire you as a customer, and only beyond such if you have opted into our Newsletter or other such future-facing marketing &/or knowledge-base engagements. We are not here to pester you, we are not here to steal info and sell it, we are here to secure and protect your family and business, and as such, are only interested in this information as a means to contact you about our promotional offers that you’ve asked to be contacted about.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. We use Antiskmet (Akismet’s Privacy Policy) to keep unwanted spam from entering false contact form information. We use reCaptcha v3 (reCaptcha Privacy Policy) to verify authenticity of our website visitors and contact form submissions. We also use other Protection Devices to secure your data and our data ecosystem; these Security Device solutions are subject to change upon Tek-On’s best judgement as to what provides the highest level of security for both you and us.
